The Ancient Greek Goddess of the underworld, Medusa, was a beautiful and lethal snake. Her hair, eyes, mouth and eyebrows are all poisonous and she was known to carry her poisonous gaze around the battlefield. She was famous as a beauty, but in reality, she was much more than that. Medusa was also famous as a trickster goddess, with the most famous of her tales being The Death of Medusa. In that story she was a beautiful and intelligent mortal who could disguise herself in order to kill her own sister and become the most powerful goddess of the underworld. She was a warrior who took on the gods of Olympus with equal skill, and in so doing, she would destroy many of the gods themselves. The myth of Medusa has been adapted many times throughout history, in some of which she is a beautiful and dangerous woman, and in others, she is a beautiful and harmless woman.
